The Complete Summer Spanish Programme For Children

OISE Segovia has designed a complete Spanish immersion programme for children aged 14-17  which combines a systematic study of the relevant language structures with a communicative approach that will help bring the students´ Spanish to life as they develop confidence and fluency.

OISE Segovia is the premium choice of  summer Spanish school for children who need a serious course focused on making the maximum possible progress with the language.

The School Day

The Morning

10:00-11:30 Language Structures (grammar and vocabulary)
11:30-12:00 Internet Period
12:00-13:30 Communication skills (controlled listening and writing)
13:30-15:30 Lunch

The Afternoon

15:30-17:00 Communication Skills (workshops, debates, roleplays)
17:00-17:30 Break
17:30-19:00 The Leisure Programme

The Evening

College Accommodation Students

19:00-21:00 Supervised homework and dinner
21:00- 22:30 Additional Leisure activities which typically involve local cultural events  such as the open air film festival, performances of traditional Spanish dance and music, or  tapas in the Plaza Mayor or the old Jewish quarter.

Host Family Students

19:00- 20:30 Homework
20:30-23:00 Dinner and time with the host family

Saturday

A full day excursion to  either Madrid or to the stunning Natural Park of the Sierra de Guadarrama. Visits to Madrid may involve the Prado and Reina Sofia muesums, a visit to the  historic centre or the Retiro Park and shopping in the Barrio de Salamanca. The Sierra de Guadarrama provides opportunities for hiking, canoeing and rock climbing.

Sunday

On Sundays students spend time with the host families getting to know Segovia and the surrounding area or in the case of college students with the live-in monitor.
